This is a solid group of players and this team has a lot of spirit. They work very hard and give themselves a chance to compete each time out.
“They are hungry to improve,” Marin FC 2006 coach Tyler Gottschalk said. “They continue to want to be challenged and they want to keep getting better.”
There are five players to keep an eye on that could help this team climb in the ECNL Northwest standings.
Coco Boydin, Holding Midfielder
A left-footed midfielder that can play all over, including the defensive and attacking midfield positions as well. She is a crafty player who is good at making connections in the midfield. She moves well, she seeks out the ball when she doesn’t have it and when she does she shows great ability to play the final pass.
Maren Jones, Attacking Midfielder/Forward
Jones is an attacking player that can play the 10 or the False 9 and understands her role because she has such a great understanding of the game. When she is on the ball she is smooth and creative, and she is always thinking steps ahead of other players.
Riley Pearson, Attacking Midfielder
Pearson is a very fast player with an incredible work rate. She never stops working, constantly looking to get forward as she has a nose for goal. She is very active when in the attacking third. She is a coach’s dream because of how hard-nosed she is.
Mari Rode, Central Defender
Rode is a 2007 player who is playing up and she is an athlete that can do so. Because of her athleticism, she makes plays and she is a very good-sized player who is strong. She shows great pace in the back, is a very brave player who is a true ball-winner for the defense.
Kacy Walker, Outside Defender
Walker, like Rode, is a 2007 playing up. She has good size and is a physical player. She shows great instincts for the game. She moves up and down the pitch very well, moving on the dribble or without the ball. She is a very smart player, she is improving quite a bit and will only continue to do so.
