San Diego Surf 09 win U13 Crown
The San Diego Surf 09 squad got some revenge against local rival Legends FC in the Boys ECNL National Championship. Legends beat Surf in the Dallas Cup championship game in April. Surf responded with a dominant defensive display in the ECNL championship game to claim the crown. Both teams were full of talent that had MLS academies interested in their players to join that level next season. Surf continues to be one of the top clubs to watch on the Boys ECNL side.
Dallas Texans 08 make it a double
The Dallas Texans U14 squad made it two national championships in two years for the club with a 2-1 win over Seattle United in the national championship game. For one family in particular this was a big moment, Cross Horton, a player on the Dallas Texans 08 team, joined his twin sister, Cassidy Horton, as an ECNL National Champion for the 2021/2022 club season. Cassidy Horton won the Girls ECNL National Championship with Solar SC earlier this month.
DKSC stakes claim for Dallas soccer
DKSC made it two National Champions from Dallas this season, as they claimed the U15 title. DKSC scored twice in the second half to earn a 2-1 win over Pipeline in the title game. DKSC’s defense helped carry the team to the championship as they recorded a shutout in four of the seven games, and never let in more than one goal in a game.
OK Energy powers to National Championship
OK Energy defeated Eclipse Select 1-0 on a late goal from Austin Hurt Austin Hurt 5'9" | M Southmoore | 2024 OK in the National Championship game. Hurt showed good anticipation on the goal to beat the goalkeeper to the cross and head home the game-winner during the final minutes of the game. It’s been a great month for the attacking midfielder as he finished the playoff run with seven goals. He is a 2024 graduate who should be on the radar for college scouts.
Pipeline SC gets their dues
Pipeline SC had a number of teams considered favorites for the National Championship in their respective age groups, but the club came up short in every age group except the U17 squad. Brady Geho Brady Geho F Archbishop Curley (MD) | 2023 MD scored the opening goal on an assist from Emmett Kershner Emmett Kershner M MD . The striker did well to take his touch around the defender and then finished to the near post. The 2023 attacker was recently named to the PrepSoccer Mid-Atlantic State All-Stars for Maryland. Pipeline added another goal in the second half and claimed the 2-0 win.
