PrepSoccer Player of the Week: Sept. 20
The PrepSoccer Player of the Week for last week was Brooklyn Miller. The Solar SC standout won the popular vote in commanding fashion after her three goal performance in a pair of wins. The nominees for this week’s award include players from high school and club soccer. There were a number of nominees for this week’s award. Check out their accomplishments below and then vote in the poll at the bottom of the page.
PrepSoccer Player of the Week Nominees: September 20
Brady Campbell, Slammers HB Koge ECNL U16 (2007) – Campbell helped her club team to a pair of road wins over the weekend that pushed Slammers Koge’s record to 4-0 on the season. The center back had a goal and an assist in the two games. She was also instrumental in securing the shutouts in both games.
Cole Varela, Elizabethtown High School – EHS had two victories last week, one against Frankfort High School with a solid 4-3 win (Varela scored two goals), followed by a 3-0 win against 17th District rival John Hardin High School. Valera scored two goals as well in that victory. For his career, he has 101 goals scored for his high school, a program record.
Ivan Twinawe Ivan Twinawe M Blaine | 2024 MN , Blaine High School – Twinawe scored two goals and had three assists in wins over Totino Grace and Coon Rapids last week that helped his team clinch a top two seed in their section. The 2024 midfielder had two assists in one game that sealed the top two seed.
Taylor Wilson Taylor Wilson null | M Northwest | 2025 State #219 Nation VA , Northwest High School – Wilson helped lead her team to a 3-0-1 record in the first week of conference play. Playing a new role as a holding midfielder, she managed three goals and four assists and several defensive stops to contribute to the team’s first place ranking. The team is now 9-0-1 counting friendly matches with Wilson, a sophomore, scoring four goals and 10 assists to date.
Olivia Moynihan, Sayville High School – Moynihan was a standout in goal for Sayville Varsity girls team in two games last week against Islip and Hauppauge.
